PRAYER WARRIORS OF THE HOLY SOULS An Apostolate of the Monfort Foundation, Inc.
Keeping the centuries old devotion alive
“Of all prayers, the most meritorious, the most acceptable to God are prayers for the dead, because they imply all the works of charity, both corporal and spiritual.” – St. Thomas Aquinas
The Prayer Warriors of the Holy Souls (PWHS) is a Catholic association committed to deliver the holy souls from the purifying torments they endure in purgatory at the soonest possible time so as to enable them to enjoy the beatific vision of God. The Association endeavors to create and spread global awareness of the plight of the holy souls and to encourage an increasing number of the faithful to pray for their deliverance from purgatory. PWHS also directs its efforts to inform the faithful on how to avoid purgatory.
The Association’s center of activity is at the Manila Cathedral (Lower Level), Cabildo corner Beaterio Sts., Intramuros, Manila. To date, PWHS has over 288,000 members in 85 countries.

The March of Saints
Children and parishioners dress as saints and parade in parishes, replacing Halloween’s secular themes with a celebration of sainthood and Christian victory over evil.
Pilgrimage for the Holy Souls
Members visit cemeteries daily to pray for the dead, gaining plenary indulgences (applicable to souls in purgatory) during this period.
Feast of St. Gertrude the Great
A special Mass honors St. Gertrude, whose prayer (taught by Christ) is promoted for its power to release souls from purgatory. PWHS emphasizes devotion to her intercession.
Today, we continue our mission to [brief vision, e.g., “love God, love others, and share the Gospel”]. The best is yet to come!
